Playbill for The Vision of the Bard!, starring James Sheridan Knowles; also contains advertisements for Waverley, The Beaux Stratagem, and His First Campaign, among other productions. The Irish dramatist and actor James Sheridan Knowles (1784-1862) wrote and took the principal role in The Vision of the Bard! (1832), a masque in honour of the recently deceased Sir Walter Scott, which featured scenes from various of his novels. It was first performed at Covent Garden, London, on 29 October 1832.
