In Sir Walter Scott's The Heart of Midlothian (ch. 15), the heroine Jeanie Deans meets her sister's seducer by moonlight beneath St. Anthony's Chapel. The Chapel is also described in Scott's Provincial Antiquities & Picturesque Scenery of Scotland (1826).
